 Acupuncture

Hollybush Vets is now offering a NEW Acupuncture clinic for animals with joint pains.

Acupuncture has evolved from the ancient art of placing needles into special locations on the body, to alleviate pain and increase the recovery rate. For the treatment in animals this is aimed particularly at chronic pain sites.

Points for placing the needles are chosen based on the functions of the nervous system. Muscles and specific acupuncture points are usually needled in the same general area as the problem area. As well as local dulling of the pain in the affected area, acupuncture also stimulates the release of chemicals such as endorphins in the brain and spinal cord, which produces a more generalised sense of pain relief. In combination, these effects can give exceptional results.

Conditions that respond well to acupuncture:
  • Arthritis (inflammation of a joint) eg hips, elbows, shoulders
  • Muscle and ligament sprains/strains
  • Hip dysplasia
  • Back pain eg disc disease.
If you have any questions about the new clinic please enquire at reception.

Hollybush Headstart

This is our new scheme for kittens and puppies, to help owners in their first year. Our way of saying thank you for bringing your pet to us.

We know that owners want to do the best for their animals and the Headstart scheme makes it a little bit easier to do just that. The pack contains four vouchers with money off neutering, club junior, microchipping and worming.

Please note that the headstart offers cannot be used in conjunction with any other offers the practice may be running.
